Who we are


The Inter- Churches Music Festival is a Church Music Festival with no denomination borders. The festival started in 2004 and is registered in Kenya with the Department of Culture under the umbrella of The Inter Churches Music and Performing Artists.

The Inter Churches Music Festival is an annual programme of the Inter Churches Music and Performing Artists. The Inter Churches Music and Performing Artists is a group registered with the Department of Culture of the National Government. The main objective of the Inter Churches Music Festival is to unite members of different church denominations in fellowship through music and to create an opportunity to develop and nurture the talent of church music choral artistes.

Inter Churches Music Festival started in 2004. The inaugural festival was held at the Pentecostal Assemblies of God Church, Ngei, Assembly in Nairobi. Since then, subsequent annual festivals have been held in different churches, including, the Salvation Army – Nairobi Central Temple, Friends Church - Mbale, ACK Mumias Cathedral, Noble Pentecostal Church - Chepsonoi,   The Inter Churches Music Festival has great bias to hymnal and spiritual music. If one is a fan of hymns, African sacred spiritual and African American spiritual music then this is the festival you should not miss. Friends Church – Kakamega, the Friends Church – Kisumu, the ACK St. Marks – Migosi, Kisumu, Church of God – Eldoret, Friends College - Kaimosi and the Salvation Army – Kakamega Citadel.

Inter Churches Music Festival fosters togetherness of the people of Kenya, by promoting peaceful coexistence among communities using the power of gospel music. The festival enhances the growth in body, mind and spirit and encourages sharing and embracing of oneness and love for each other.

The annual church music assembly attracts participation from choirs of different denominations and audience alike. The participating choirs have freedom to choose from various items which they feel capable of and which they can raise the required minimum numbers.

The Inter Churches Music Festival has great bias to hymnal and spiritual music. If one is a fan of hymns, African sacred spiritual and African American spiritual music then this is the festival you should not miss.

Why we exist


Our main aim is to unite members of different church denominations in fellowship through music and to create an opportunity to develop and nurture the talent of church music choral artistes.

Our Mission

To “Reach out for Christ”, promote togetherness, cooperation and harmony among different churches, through organizing church music festivals and other social activities that unite our society.

Objectives


“Reach out for Christ” through various musical and nonmusical activities

To “Reach out for Christ” through various musical and non-musical activities like Easter concerts, Christmas carols and environment conservation activities.

To promote togetherness, cooperation, harmony and positive social interactions among the members who are from different churches through The Interchurches Music Festival.

To promote moral behaviour in the society and fight against HIV/AIDS, child and drug abuse and other social evils.

To support disadvantaged members of our communities; the sick in hospitals, the aged, children in orphanages and prisoners and comfort them through music, and other related activities.

To promote and nurture the musical talent of our performing artists.

To form partnership with other Local, National and International groups which share our interests.
